I.T. TENDER MINISTRY > JULY AUGUST 2012

“The Journey  of Faith”
I press on toward the goal to win the prize in which God has called me heavenly ward in Christ Jesus     - Philippians 3:14

“I press on toward the goal to win the prize”

Another step of the journey where the learners grown and achieve the goal for their future - the graduation day is a big part of ALS (Alternative Learning System) where their dreams are rebuilt again and will continue to grow from this day on. Dreams and actions, pursuing and praying behind their back and a step of success is where we can find how powerful our God is. For this month we had three important activities that really touched the heart of  the learners. At the same time they are grateful that they have a part in each activity. As they take a new step, it could be their guide to reach their dreams and even more than they ask for. In our first General Assembly the learners responded well to the teachings of the Gospel. They shared their life testimonies and everyone participated according to the desires of their hearts. We have activities that occurred at the same time: the SBC  essay writing tutorial and the graduation of the passers, in which both events had positive results and had an impact on all of the learners - either the graduates or the new batch of learners this year. Above all this simply shows that God is so good and great all the time.

The Life Cycle of Early School Age

How can we forget the beginning of an Early School age in the life of these children. It was an amazing journey that indeed we ministered with them and we are so blessed to work with them. A group play, early gender identification, beginning moral standards, learning of classification, combination, and other basic intellectual skills is our goal to achieve for them. Help us in prayer to help these children so that someday they will become successful in the sense of what it means to be part of a good society.

“Give food to the Hungry”

For about  30 malnourished children a feeding program was held and everybody is watching them and happy to see them in good nourishment after the six-month program. This project was launched in helping churches find the malnourished children  in their community and at the same time for a moment to share and preach the gospel of God. The main part of this program is to bring them to church and empower them not only physically but also spiritually. It was also aiming that even the workers of the church will be given a challenge to participate and joining in our vision through this feeding program.

News Break ! The IT Tender Ministry > SPONSOR A CHILD NOW NEWSLETTER

School Year 2012-2013 Field Trip Activity Report

The First Step in Fulfilling the Vision through God’s Provision

“A MOMENTOUS DAY IN A MOMENTOUS PLACE”. Over 120 participants of the 2012 Lakbay Aral
(Educational Field Trip) took their group shot at the back of the house of our National Hero Dr. Jose P. Rizal.

They will speak of the glorious splendor of Your majesty, and I will meditate on Your wonderful works. “  in Psalm 145:5.  This Bible verse is what the 2012 Lakbay Aral (SACN Educational Field Trip) is holding on to.  Beyond reaching its goal, and that is to alleviate the beneficiaries’ emotional and physical aspects of living, but more especially in sharing God’s love that will result in an outpouring of praises and thanksgiving in their hearts to our Father. The day has come for one of the major activities of the developmental program of Sponsor A Child Now to become a reality last Saturday, August 25, 2012. From months of preparation and earnest praying, God graciously fulfilled our plans and desire for the beneficiaries. What made the event more momentous is that it was not just the children of the IT Tender Ministry who benefited but also children from Batang Matinik and Pangarap Kids Ministry of Tiaong, Quezon and from the Batang Krayola Ministry in Makati.  Truly, what an awesome God!
There were 124 people who gathered from different areas and assembled at the IT Tender Drop-In Center, Alabang as early as 5:30 in the morning. The greeted one another and met the day with excitement in their hearts and bright smiles on their faces.  The young Ptr. Raymond Sumaya of Jesus King of Kings Community Church in Makati led the prayer for safety for“Bus A”, while Ptr. John Basiwa, the IT Tender Ministry Team Leader, led the prayer for “Bus B”. Along the way, Ate Nerisa and Ate Almira never let a single moment become dull. These witty tourist guides shared jokes and meaty information about the places that we were about to go. They also instructed the participants about features of the bus and the do’s and don’ts onboard. This helped a lot for the safety and comfort of the passengers.
At the Rizal Shrine in Calamba, Laguna, the participants roamed around the area to see where the young National Hero Dr. Jose P. Rizal was raised. This was the first venue of the event. They marveled at the richness of his home and the stories behind each corner and items inside the grand ancestral house. The second stop at the Lucky Me! Plant in Sta. Rosa, Laguna was also an interesting part of the day. It captivated great curiosity since almost everyone eats noodles. The children enjoyed meeting Mr. Lucky M, the mascot of the said brand. They also learned the history of the company and how millions of noodles are made everyday. The highlight of the said event was the Enchanted Kingdom. Each of the participants were given almost five hours to experience the thrill of what the theme park offers. Despite the gloomy weather, the children and even young-at-hearts were all smiles as they enjoyed the rides. The day ended with some of the participants’ testimonies. Some of them shared that it was the most wonderful day for them.  TO GOD BE ALL THE GLORY for giving the ministry the opportunity to serve Him in this way!

I.T. TENDER MINISTRY > S.A.C.N. 2012 DINNER FOR A CAUSE

By God’s Grace We Will Make An Impact to the Lives of the Needy

“WE CANNOT DO IT ALONE, WE NEED GOD”.
Sis. Gela delivered her challenged to the attendees.

Imagine how the sixty-five children of the Sponsor A Child Now Program plus their families becoming over a hundred of people beingbrought to the church.  And hopefully someday they would be part of the workers for the harvest of God! Imagine that we can make an impact to the lives of the hopeless and oppressed if we are committed to responding to the call of God. But how can we make that possible? Definitely, we cannot do these things alone.
The IT Tender Ministry conducted an event in order to bless and to give opportunities for others to take part in this great commission. The 2012 Dinner For A Cause was held last July 27, 2012 at Max’s Restaurant, Putatan, Muntinlupa. Over sixty people were gathered to share the burden and to pray for the upcoming events of the said program. The event was filled with so many activities that were both heart warming and soul touching. We opened with a prayer lead by Sr. Ptr. Jonie Antinero of Lord Jesus Bible Church. Followed by a recognition of all the organizations who supported the said event by the ministry head of IT Tender Ministry Ptr. John Basiwa. Before the feeding for the body, a feeding for the soul was given by Ptr. Ramir Cebedo. He shared about giving and other roles of a Christian.
One of the memorable moments of the event is the testimony of one of the beneficiaries of HAKBANG– Sponsorship program. Jace Viagedor shared his family’s story as they lost his father and chose to live under the bridge. He said that he was grateful because his studies were being supported by the said program.  This was used as an introduction to the program’s promotional video. It has a message of how a single help can change a child’s life and produce hope in their future, love for their family, and faith in the Lord. The climax of the program is the Challenge. It was delivered by the program director Sis. Gela Basiwa. As she poured out her heart and her passion, she emphasized that the ministry cannot do it aloneand that they need God and other people. And that it is existing in order to
develop community by sending thousands of poor children
to school through equipping the families with
developmental programs, livelihood and Christ’s
values.
The launching of the 3 sub-programs was
also included in her presentation and the step of
faith in fulfilling the vision by extending the
sponsorship program in Tiaong, Quezon. The
program was sealed by a closing prayer lead by
Alex Lawrence of Stopsley Baptist Church 2012
UK Mission Team. TO GOD BE ALL THE GLORY!

I.T. Tender Ministry > Sponsor A Child Now 2nd QUARTER NEWSLETTER 2012

A Yummy Treat !

Ma’am Lerma Galang, a teacher from
ALS-Muntinlupa lead the prayer for food.

For the first year of the Sponsorship Program, the ministry is joyful to share that God used it as a tool in helping 3 students to finish their studies in elementary. And also we have 2 sponsored children who excelled in their class and became the Top 1 and Top 2 Most Outstanding students.
As a treat for their hard work and also for their parents’ perseverance, they were invited for a celebration at Shakey’s Restaurant last April 24, 2012. They said that it  was their first time to dine in this kind of place and they were so happy. Most of them added that they did not celebrate after the graduation or the recognition day because it was costly for them. What made them happier was when they received gifts. They were so excited because they had a new set of clothes. This was also a chance for the staff to congratulate the children and most especially their parents. We hope that this will inspire the other children. And we pray that for the next year, we will be able to produce more hardworking students and treat more hardworking parents.

Brain & Heart Storming

Teacher Cecille presenting the program of
SIMULA Learning Center last May 9, 2012.

The busiest period has come. The transition phase from the termination of the school year and planning for the new year. The keyboard of our computer had to endure the long hours of typing. The coordinators of each program gave their best and even shed tears in order to prepare their reports and proposals, which they will each present for the case conference.  At the same time, conceptualizing the framework or plan with the help of the accumulated learnings they had for the
past year.
The vibe at the center was a combination of thanksgiving to God for being gracious for the past year and also excitement and anxiousness as the new school year is fast approaching. The coordinators have to stretch out and to seek His wisdom as they lead. They had to step out of their comfort zones as the Sponsor A Child Now program expands into a wider range of harvesting field. Your labor in the Lord team will never go in vain.

A Jump Start !
Orientation of SIMULA last June 11, 2012.

Orientation Day of PAGBABAGO last June 13, ‘12.

Orientation of HAKBANG  last June 9, 2012.

The much awaited opening of the new and bigger Sponsor A Child Now has now arrived. God has been our guide as the team gathers over 100 people attending with only one desire, and that is facing together the School Year 2012-2013. They participated well  during these 3 events: The Signing of Memorandum of Agreement and Orientation in Hakbang (Footsteps)-Sponsorship program simultaneously held in two different areas; in SIMULA (Beginning) Learning Center; and, the PAGBABAGO (Transformation) -Alternative Learning System.
The objective of these event is to formalize the partnership between the ministry and the clients and their families. Because the helping is not about giving them material things but guiding them to become self-reliant. An orientation about the program and the rules and regulations was also tackled. The services that they are about to receive were discussed. But what excited the participants most is the schedule of activities for the whole school year. Children and parents were looking forward for the developmental activities like the educational field trip, children & youth camp, Christmas Party and family day. What was new for this year was that the contracts and presentation were translated into Filipino so that it will be easier for them to comprehend.
Ptr. John and Sis. Gela gave their inspirational message and challenge for the students and parents. They also lead prayers and shared the Word of God. Please pray for us as we minister to over 120 people. Our main objective for this year is to bring them to church.

Thank you Everyone!
We want to say thank you to all our supporters and prayer partners. Without your love and support this ministry could not operate in the capacity it is right now. We are blessed that you have heeded God’s call to “spend yourselves in behalf of the hungry and satisfy the needs of the oppressed.”

You are a blessing to the ministry and you are helping making a difference in the lives many here in the Philippines. Thank you for your selfless generosity! IT TENDER MINISTRY

I.T. Tender Ministry > Sponsor A Child Now 2nd Quarter Events A Life Long Learning Journey Continues

A Life Long Learning Journey Continues

Cherishing the first headlines of the Sponsor A Child Now! Newsletter last year, “A Thousand Miles Begins With One Step”. Our journey continues and God is graciously guiding us. The theme for the School Year 2012-2013 is “Life Long Learning”. Because the IT Tender Ministry praises the Almighty for the wisdom and for the opportunity to reach out to more children and starting this year to include the  young adults.
What was first thought as a Sponsorship Program with an initial goal to provide educational assistance for students. Now, it is existing in order to develop community by sending thousands of poor children to school through equipping the families with developmental programs, livelihood and Christ's values. Through God’s guidance and learning's collected for the past year, the said program evolved and became more systematic. And so the said educational program expands into (3) Three Sub-programs: the SIMULA (Beginning) Learning Center for the out of school children ages 4 to 7 years old; the HAKBANG (Footsteps) Sponsorship Program for the children who attends formal school in elementary and secondary level; and the PAGBABAGO (Transformation) Alternative Learning System Program for out of school youth and young adults.
